"The job you do out there in the apparent world is secondary. It's only a place for you to judge, inquire, and know yourself. Your true job is to appreciate what is; your primary profession is to be clear." Byron Katie

FAQs

WHAT IS THE WORK of Byron Katie?

The best way to learn about The Work is to visit Byron Katie’s site; TheWork.com. There are a lot of resources there, including videos of Byron Katie explaining The Work and facilitating others. There is also a podcast and live sessions you can attend free of charge. I invite you to explore. Reading her books is also a wonderful way to know more about The Work and its power.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BOOK SESSIONS?

What I love about The Work is that it’s always there to support you on your own. There is no requirement to schedule regular sessions and you can book with regularity if that is what works for you. I have clients that meet with me often and others that I see once in a while. You decide what works for you.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ONLINE COURSES AVAILABLE?

I do offer online courses from time to time. Please join my mailing list to get notified when courses become available. I have done courses with the following themes: Introduction to The Work, Ending the War with the Body, Money, Accepting the gift of criticism, Focusing on Listening, Working with Shame & Guilt, Parenting, Working with the Turnarounds, Writing the Judge-Your-Neighbor Worksheet - getting closer. Contact me if you’re interested in a particular course. You can always propose a course. If you have a group, I’m open to designing a course that meets the needs of the group.

What do you charge for ONE-ON-ONE sessions?

In an effort to keep my sessions affordable to a wide range of clients, I work on a sliding scale, $75-225 per session, payable immediately after each session. Please contact me if $75 is beyond your reach; I’m happy to work with you and guide you so that you can get the most out of this practice.

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE FOR A PRIVATE SESSION?

The best thing you can do before a session if you are new to The Work is familiarize yourself with The Work by going to TheWork.com. You can also look and print some of The Work Resources.

You can also notice situations that trigger you. If you are triggered by another person (even if slightly), notice what they said or did that caused your reaction. Then write down the emotion that you felt when they triggered you and write the #1 statement in the Judge-Your-Neighbor Worksheet. I am ___(emotion)______ with __(name)______ because he/she_____________________. Complete the sentence with a short statement that describes best describes your reproach. For example: I am angry with James because he didn’t text me back. Or, I am angry with James because he doesn’t care about me.

You can also bring a list of beliefs that upset you or a list of your complaints about someone. There is no requirement to do any previous work. Wherever you are are I will meet you there.
